Junior Analyst Program

As a Junior Analyst, you will learn how to generate prudent and actionable investment ideas in the US stock market while also developing your own communication and professionalism skills. The program will teach you how to analyze company fundamentals and utilize valuation techniques employed by industry professionals across the world. Additionally, you will gain exposure to applications such as Microsoft Excel, Bloomberg, and S&P Capital IQ well-ahead of your peers. Since we donate our profits to the BBA Scholarship Program, your work as a Junior Analyst is a way to give back to SMU.

A line-up of guest speakers and office visits complements the JA Program. We give you direct access to the expansive and flourishing financial services industry in Dallas and beyond.

BIG's alumni and advisory network is unmatched by any other similar student organization on campus; we place an emphasis on connecting you with a network that spans across the country, primarily in the investment banking, private equity, and asset management industries.

Top-performing Junior Analysts will be eligible for promotion to a Portfolio Manager position at the conclusion of the program.

No prior skill level is required to become a Junior Analyst, but a passion for finance and a motivation for independent learning is necessary.
